What makes it worth your time

Four values, not one pigeonhole

You end up with all four temperaments scored from 0 to 100. They are independent of one another and deliberately do not add up to 100 percent — scoring middling across all four is a real result, not a rounding error.

Built against the tick-everything bias

Every trait is asked about in equal numbers of agreeing and disagreeing statements. Tick everything and you get four identical scores instead of a flattering answer. This is exactly where most online temperament tests fall over.

Nothing leaves your device

The app collects no data and makes no network connections while running. Birth details for the astrological part are held in memory only and are discarded when you close the app.

Astrology: optional and visibly separate

Sun sign and ascendant are computed, not read from a table — checked against the Swiss Ephemeris. In the result they are shown in a second colour, and one button hides them. You always see which part came from your answers.

Traceable, not oracular

The result breaks down which areas of life the scores come from: drive, reaction speed, steadiness, sociability, underlying mood and how you handle resistance.

Fully translated into German, English, French, Spanish and Italian — questions included. Europe's other languages can be selected and are shown in English.

Where the four humours come from

The doctrine of the four humours places people between warm and cold, moist and dry — sanguine, choleric, melancholic, phlegmatic. It shaped European medicine and the study of character from antiquity well into the modern era. As a theory of disease it is long superseded; as a language for how differently people react to the same situation it has proved remarkably durable. That is what this questionnaire is for.
